The student's knowledge is tested by written and/or practical examinations. The course is rated pass or fail with an overall pass mark of 75%.  A course certificate is presented to those who have succeeded.

All course curriculums' have met the requirements of the Canadian Aviation Regulation 803.02(b) and are considered acceptable to the Minister for training a person in the interpretation and application of the criteria contained within the standards.


Calculators, drafting paper, drafting tools and maps are supplied to the candidates. Documents, paper templates, worksheets and forms are also provided to the candidates for future reference. Video film on GNSS operations is viewed during the training. The manual titled Criteria for the Development of Instrument Approach Procedures; TP-308 GPH 209 current edition is supplied.

Accommodation and meals at the institute is ~ $165.00 plus applicable taxes per day. This includes coffee and beverages twice a day. Please indicate on the registration form if you wish to stay at the institute, and we will make the reservation. Payment for accommodation and meals is to be made directly at the institute by each individual at the end of the training.
